Welcome, Cousin!

I can’t wait to meet you. If you’ve found your way here while trying to untangle branches of your own family tree, let’s chat! I’d love to try and help.

Life is a grand tapestry and its beauty is created through the careful weaving of a thousand different threads. Each thread plays a part in bringing the complete picture to life. Why turquoise? Simple. The women in my family have always had an affinity for turquoise! 🩵

Preserve your memories, keep them well, what you forget you can never retell. – Louisa May Alcott

My maiden name is Tara Smith and I’ve spent years tracing my family tree. (Nope, I have no Smith family lines in my tree other than my father, so don’t ask. 😊) I’ve loved genealogy for decades and it gives me tremendous joy to share what I learn with the rest of my family. It’s a wonderful time to be a genealogist! The ability to break through brick walls with DNA has changed this important hobby forever.

Recently, a “close” cousin told me in a hateful, misogynistic, rant that I had no business researching certain branches of my family tree and that I needed to stick to only TWO surnames. This website is dedicated to EVERY cousin on my family tree with a generous heart and a willingness to share.

Those who do not look upon themselves as a link, connecting the past with the future, do not perform their duty to the world. – Daniel Webster
